Aguero Could Be Fit For Semi Final

The medical staff of the Argentinean team is believed to have made the management aware that Sergio Aguero is fit enough to feature in the semi final match against Germany
After that, it has been assumed that the striker would be a part of the starting XI of Argentina tomorrow.

Ideally, the management would have liked him to play as substitute in a game or two before giving him the starting opportunity, but, because of Angel De Maria’s unavailability, they have no option, but, to start with Aguero.

Aguero wasn’t in the greatest of rhythms before getting injured in the group round. But, everybody knows that the Manchester City player is a match winner on his day. So, it’s completely worth taking the risk of getting him into the starting XI straightaway after the injury.

The guy who has played on the place of Aguero in the past couple of matches is Ezequiel Lavezzi and he’s been decent in the supporting role, but, he doesn’t have the same kind of striking capability that Aguero has.

And in knockout matches, it’s the players with X factors whom you want to have in your team. So, despite the fact that there is no guarantee of Aguero firing against Germany, he should have been given a go.

Although it’s highly unlikely, but, in case, the Argentina management decides not to go with Aguero, they have got one more striker i.e. Rodrigo Palacio in the back up. Yes, he hasn’t had as big a reputation as some of the other Argentineans have, but, he is a veteran with plenty of experience and can be very effective on big days.

Palacio has featured once in a substitute role in the ongoing World Cup i.e. in the pre quarter final match against Switzerland.
