DI SANTO: BLACKBURN ROVERS CAREER UNVEILED

Argentine international Franco Di Santo scored three goals in 22 games in the Premier League while he was on loan at Blackburn Rovers from West London giants Chelsea.

He left the Blues to join Blackburn Rovers on loan in August 2009.
Franco Di Santo initially signed for Blackburn Rovers on a six-month loan deal until February 2010 with the option of an extension until June 2010. He made his debut for Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League encounter with Manchester City. His first game for Blackburn Rovers ended in a 2-0 defeat at home to the Citizens. He played the final 25 minutes of the game having come on as a substitute for Jason Roberts.
Di Santo also made his first start in Blackburn Rovers colours in the Premier League. He started the away game at Sunderland but lasted just 14 minutes before he was subbed off for Croatian international Nikola Kalinic due to injury. Franco Di Santo made it two successive defeats at the start of the Premier League season with the 2-1 loss to the Black Cats.
Franco Di Santo was on the sidelines for one month as a result of the injury mentioned earlier. His third appearance for Blackburn Rovers was from the start. Di Santo was in the starting line-up as Blackburn Rovers beat Aston Villa 2-1 at home and he was responsible for the winning goal scored by David Dunn after his shot was handled by Richard Dunne.
Argentine striker Di Santo scored his first goal for Blackburn Rovers in the derby clash with Burnley. He scored one of the goals as Blackburn Rovers beat the Clarets 3-2 at home. Di Santo also provided an assist for David Dunn during the Premier League game. His loan spell was extended to one year after a series of good performances at Blackburn Rovers.
